Free-spirited photographer Cheyenne Nighthorse is fun loving and easy going about almost everything . . . except the mysterious disappearance of one of her best friends, Violet. To Cheyenne, Violet is dead, plain and simple. Ember, Cheyenne’s best friend since childhood, disagrees with Cheyenne and is sure Violet is out there somewhere.
Ember’s husband Cole enlists the help of his brother, Rock, and Cheyenne is forced to open wounds that she had worked so hard to heal. She directs her anger and frustration at what she considers to be the cause: Rock digging into Violet’s disappearance. Rock Bainbridge is a very successful P.I. and he’s damn good at what he does, so when his brother and new sister-in-law appeal to him for assistance, he’s more than willing help out family. What he doesn’t account for is the smart mouth hostility he encounters from Cheyenne. He can’t stand a woman who doesn’t act like a lady. And Cheyenne is no lady.
When they are forced to work closely together to find Violet, Rock and Cheyenne discover that their bodies do not agree with the mental dislike they have created and keeping their hands to themselves proves to be difficult. Things get increasingly complicated when the past comes back to haunt them and Violet’s trail goes cold. Then, in the blink of an eye, a lone gunshot changes everything. Forever.
Learn how it all got started...
Ember Sinclair’s only focus is planning for the future. She graduated college and became second-in-command at one of the largest marketing firms in Raleigh, NC before the age of 30. She doesn’t have time for romantic relationships nor does she want to have time. Enter Cole Bainbridge. Sexy as sin, a player, a commitment-phobe--and her boss.
When Cole and Ember find themselves on a dream trip for a week, the sparks between them combust into an erotic fire that neither of them are prepared for. They mutually agree to have a week long, uncomplicated affair filled with mind blowing sex. But the best laid plans are often the most fallible. Then, in the blink of an eye, something happens and nothing is ever, ever the same.
Read what people have to say about Ember's Flame!
"As an avid romance novel reader, Ember's Flame definitely is a re-read! I was captivated by Ember the moment I read the first line. The author does a fantastic job of creating a world in which the reader feels a part of. I couldn't stop reading once I started - it was like I was on the phone with my best friend and when I hung up it was three hours later. Once I finished, I was gratified in the ending but curious about what's next with my friends.
As an African American woman who works in Advertising, I was pleased to find so many of the details similar to experiences I've had - male dominated industry and the struggle to present myself in a certain way. Honestly, if I worked for Cole I may also be tempted to throw caution to the wind and satisfy myself with some chocolate, too!
I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next!!! I will be following!"
"I've been reading African American romance and lit erotica for almost 15 years and Serendipity is one of the best I've ever encountered. Ember's Flame has romance, humor, passion and thrill from cover to cover. The characters are relatable and their passionate encounters leave nothing to be desired but more desire. Look out Zane and Eric Jerome Dickey, because Serendipity has arrived and I swear to God she better not ever leave!"
"I've been in a reading slump lately and haven't read anything new in nearly a month but the synopsis of Ember's Flame peaked my interest. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to lose myself in Ember's and Cole's story! I would definitely recommend this book as it was truly a great read! Can't wait to read book 2! I hope it's about Rock and Cheyenne!!!"
"I'm not new to erotic fiction but I have spent some time away from it. I've also been reading a lot of paranormal romance books so this review is not from a rookie. I thoroughly enjoyed Ember's Flame. I wanted it to stretch out a bit further because it seemed kind of rushed at the end but other than that no complaints. It's not over the top and the erotic scenes are well written and I enjoyed the plot. I can't wait for part two."
"I love this book. The story line is sweet and sensual. Now I need book two, so I can find out about Violet and see who next."
"A Wonderful Book from a very talented new author - Looking forward to reading her next novel!"

"Ember's Flame was a great love story with a good backdrop. I could not put the book down and I read it during my breaks from work and while I took my birthday staycation. The writing was clear and the characters were well developed. I enjoyed that the story flowed into each chapter and did not bore me. I wanted to know what was going to be the next move in the drama, plus I pushed myself to read until I fell asleep some nights. That just means I could not put the book down. Good cover art too. Ember's Flame is that book that makes you believe in love again. Read it on your next vacation or relaxing day at home. You'll thumb quickly through the pages."

"I absolutely love it! The book actually is not as predictable as one would guess from the title. I am upset since the sequel is not yet available. I sincerely hope and pray that the Author Serendipity keeps it come. She could easily be my new V.C. Andrews."
